Customer Pre-Installation Requirements

⦁ Property lines and fence location is not the responsibility of Sandel Fence Builder. We recommend a survey with stakes but will install the fence at the customer request where they approve. Sandel Fence Builder will not be held liable for encroachment and will charge a fee if project is stopped due to location issues. 
⦁ Secondary lines must be marked by the customer. 811 Utility locators will only mark main lines. A locate order is made at the time of contract to give customer opportunity to have secondary lines marked. Sandel Fence Builder will not be responsible for damages to secondary power lines that were not marked before installation.
⦁ Propane gas lines are not marked by utility locators. Customer is responsible to have gas supplier mark the lines before installation. Sandel Fence Builder will not be responsible for damages to secondary gas lines. Natural gas lines are marked by the utility locators.
⦁ All water lines must be marked by the customer if in the location of the fence. Sandel Fence Builder will not be responsible for any damages to water lines that were not marked prior to installation.
⦁ Sewer and septic lines must be marked by the customer if in the location of the fence. Sewer lines usually run from the front of the house to the street, septic lines usually run from the house to the back yard field. Sandel Fence Builder is not responsible for damages to septic or sewer lines without marks prior to installation.
⦁ Sprinkler lines must be marked where located in the fence line. Sandel Fence Builder is not responsible for damages to sprinkler lines that were not marked.
⦁ Trees, shrubs and heavy growth must be cleared 2' on both sides of fence line prior to fence install date. Sandel Fence Builder will clear this if needed but must be priced in the original contract before installation, not the day of.

•  Fence Permits: All cities and counties do not require a fence permit, however, a few do. It is the responsibility of the homeowner to check their local building requirements before purchasing a fence. Sandel Fence Builder will assist the customer with obtaining a permit if needed or apply for the permit for an additional fee.  

• Customers must inform neighbors and other parties living in the house of the project before install day. If the crew is stopped or changes made to the fence after installation is started, a fee will apply.
